Professor John Hawk, BSc MD FRACP FRCP*

Professor Hawk has written multiple dermatological
scientific papers, book chapters and several books, and is co-editor of the current major international text in his field, Photodermatology. He was editor of the journal, Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, and founder in 1988 and then President of the British Photodermatology Group. For many years he served on the British Association of Dermatologists' Executive as Press Liaison Officer, and was a consultant for the UK Advertising Standards Authority and Radio Advertising Clearance Committee. He is a founding committee member of the American Photomedicine Society, and was 2005 London European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress Deputy President and Scientific Committee Chairman, and for several years EADV Scientific Committee Chairman. He is the recent President of the exceptionally successful World Congress on Cancers of the Skin held from September 3rd to 6th 2014 in Edinburgh, Scotland, immediate Past-President of the European Society for Photodermatology, and an elected member of the prestigious American Dermatological Association and European Dermatology Forum. Finally, he has long been and continues to be a frequently invited speaker at meetings in the United Kingdom and around the world, and remains an editorial board member of many international journals.
